Although Lockdown is often called a *Firewall* , It is not one. Lockdown is a tool and you'll see that thru my review and when you , yourself use it . Lockdown has multiple tools that i use on a regular basis. This scanner is the best by far for detecting "GTBots" that are attacking the IRC Enviroments. Out of all the scanners I use ( test ) Lockdown beats all handsdown in detecting these bots. It also provides Traceroute option , Whois , Finger, Ping and NSLookup that can always come in handy. It will also moniter your SHARES , with multy level security options. It has a live update feature as well , that is a nice feature. Now to my favorite feature , the generics and proccess menu's. This allows you to see whats running in your computer and enables you to end task it . This is a great feature if you have a trojan virus , it allows you to kill that proccess and delete. It also moniters registry entries , another great feature. Lockdowns Support/technical contacts are the best i have ever dealt with. The response is always polite and prompt. Lockdown is often updated and made more user friendly. Its one of the easiest software utilities that i have used. I will say that when running on Windows ME it could have some problems , but lockdown again is doing their best to fix that. Some complain that lockdown is a memory hog , however i cant agree to that , its a multiutility device , so yes it will use some more memory than a simple "cleaner" Lockdown gets a 10 star rating from me
